Congratulations to Alex and Vera who were married a few weeks ago at Manor House Hotel in Guildford.
When we arrived at Manor House, the sun was shining and Vera was very excited about the day ahead and it was great to see her spying on the guests as they arrived at the hotel giving her butterflies!
Alex was very relaxed and was having lots of fun with his groomsmen. We had been told that he arrived in the morning on a tandem which we were to see a little later. After a beautiful ceremony Alex and his best man tried to ride the tandem together, but something tells me Alex had slightly more experience than his best man!
The weather held long enough for us to get some lovely bride and groom shots and although it was a little cold, it didn't seem to bother them at all. As Vera is Russian, we were looking forward to a few Russian traditions and probably my favourite was the biting of the bread. Vera's Mum had made a huge loaf and the idea is that on entering the wedding breakfast, the Bride and Groom must both take a bite of the bread. The one with the biggest bite is the one in charge in the relationship. Alex claimed the win but I definately think that Vera had grounds for a stewards enquiry!
After the speeches, Alex and Vera had organised some tradtional Russian games to keep the guests entertained while the staff at the hotel changed the room around for the evening, which was a great idea. We loved the one where Vera had to find her Groom blindfolded - although there was cheating going on! - and the one where couples had to untangle themselves, brilliant!
We had such a fun day with Alex and Vera and we wish them all the best for their future together.
